Scanned, as the three minute TV spot is called, is a moody blend of live action and CGI that touches on Master Chief’s tough upbringing as an enhanced super soldier in training, and ends with a dash of action.

Fincher, who directed 2010′s The Social Network, produced the clip. Special effects maestro Tim Miller directed. Throughout the pair threaten to show Master Chief’s face, but as Halo franchise boss Frank O’Connor told Eurogamer last month, developer 343 Industries isn’t ready to do that.

We touch on the ancient evil Halo 4 revolves around. This is holding poor Master Chief captive. This is the force scanning him, searching for his weaknesses, drudging up the past.

Not long now till the Xbox 360 first-person shooter launches early November.

Asus ROG Matrix HD 7970 Platinum: Shown in pictures

A few days ago we told you that Asus was preparing a special version of the Radeon HD 7970, that is specifically named Asus ROG Matrix HD 7970 Platinum and this graphics card is based on the core XT2 Tahiti most powerful on the market. This is a version belonging to the Asus product series ROG, so we can expect a good final design and performance to match. Today we will show you some pictures of the Asus ROG Matrix HD 7970 Platinum, which should be available in a short space of time.

Surely many of you know the number of products ROG from Asus, and they are products that are specifically intended for the most demanding users, and also to those who can afford it of course . The Asus ROG Matrix HD 7970 Platinum is a graphics card based on the Tahiti XT2 core, which is the same one found in the AMD Radeon HD 7970GHz Edition.

Its operating frequencies are not too high, since its base speed is 1050MHz and goes up 1100MHz using Boost PowerTune technology, but these frequencies will rise easily via overclock. Its 3GB of GDDR5 memory runs at a speed of 6600Mhz effective and a memory interface of 384Bits.

The Asus ROG Matrix HD 7970 Platinum is a graphics card that has a defined destination, for users who want to take it to the limit in terms of possible performance by overclocking, and the pockets of those who can afford it, because it certainly is not going to be cheap. Its design is based on 20 power phases and of course all the components that make up the PCB are of high quality.

This card occupies three slots and has six video outputs, with two DVI and four DisplayPort. For its proper feeding it will be necessary to use two 8-pin PCI-Express cables and the cooling system is based on a double coolers with four copper heatpipes two 120-mm fans and a metal backplate on the back of the card.

The downside of all this is that the price is still a mystery, but we do not believe that it will costs less than 600 € and less being a Asus ROG product although it would be interesting to know if it will be a limited edition or not, because that can also increase its price if it is a limited edition.

Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 Shown Off at Computex 2012

Computex 2012: We’ve seen a few new products from Be Quiet! recently, but the one new thing they are really proud to show off is their Dark Power Pro 10 850W power supply. Aaron from Be Quiet! gives us an insight into their latest power supply, offering 80% Platinum efficiency and silent cooling.

The Dark Power Pro 10 also features a rubber coating on either end to reduce resonant noise through to the chassis and a rubber ring around the fan to reduce noise from vibration when running. The supply also re-features four fan headers for direct connection to the supply.

Be Quiet! have opted here to not go for a semi-passive design on this new model as the fan already has a very low acoustic level at 12dB and thus is already quiet enough with regards to the rest of the system.

Dead Space 3 Countdown appears, logo shown

What appears to the be first screenshot from Dead Space 3 has surfaced online.

It shows a character propelling themselves through a planet’s orbit in one of the series’ trademark armoroued suits. Once again, the game’s HUD is displayed on the character’s back.

The image looks to originate from the series’ official EA site, which currently shows a countdown written in an alien language. Translated, the numbers points to next Monday, when EA will hold its E3 press conference.

Yesterday that site also began teasing a new Dead Space graphic novel short, which looks like it will tie-into Dead Space 3.

The existence of Dead Space 3 comes as no surprise. Continual leaks over the past year have revealed it will be partly set on an ice planet, tie-up the story of series star Isaac Clarke and feature drop-in, drop out co-op. Expect to hear more at E3 next week.

ASRock X79 Extreme 11: Shown in pictures

ASRock continues on its good track and we already know the first pictures of the motherboard ASRock X79 Extreme 11 , which although already knew in May, now comes enhanced with a 24 phase VRM , while the former has 16 +2 phase . An important improvement especially in the face of lovers of the fun and dangerous world of overclocking.

During the show, CeBIT 2012 , the manufacturer showed its motherboard ASRock ASRock X79 Extreme 11 , a motherboard based on the E-ATX format that is destined for processors Sandy Brige-E under the LGA 2011. Now we can see a new version of this model of motherboard, which comes with a 24 phase VRM as a major improvement over the previous model.

Looking at the images we can say that this is a high-end motherboard, and no wonder. To feed the processor we need to use two 8-pin connectors, who assure us all will provide enough energy to overclock the Sandy Bridge processor-E to its limits. On each side of the LGA 2011 socket are four slots for RAM DDR3-2400MHz + OC (64GB is the maximum capacity) which is fed by a 4 +4 VRM phases, also has two 4-pin molex connectors if we need additional energy.

This motherboard offers a total of seven PCI-Express X16 3.0, which are controlled by the PLX chip PEX8747 and give us support for configurations Quad SLI and CrossfireX. It also has 8 SATA 6Gb / s controlled by the LSI SAS2308 chip and two 6Gb/sy SATA SATA 3Gb / s through the PCH X79.

On the rear panel there are audio connectors that provide 8 channels (with the Creative Sound Core3D system), two gigabit Ethernet connectors, four USB 3.0, USB 2.0, eSATA, FireWire and a button to make a BIOS ClearCMOS. Otherwise comes complete with a UEFI BIOS and technologies XFastLAN and XFastUSB.

Surely you noticed already but just in case you didn’t notice the motherboard indeed has no cooling system for chips and other components, but not to worry since there is still time for its launch and implies that they are still designing or do not want to show it. Final price is unknown and the date of its arrival, but in view of the features it will not be too cheap.

Crysis 3 Debut Trailer Shown

Crysis 3 is confirmed and although you’ll have to wait another year to be able to play it, Crytek began marketing it, and even accepting pre-orders.

On Friday, it posted Crysis 3 Debut Trailer (the very first trailer), which reveals quite a bit of action going on, in the game, including the intriguing crossbow weapon.

The trailer reveals a sci-fi post-apocalyptic setting in which a city is overrun by vegetation. The baddies appear to have a force-field around the city now. The teaser is just 15 seconds long. A (probably longer) gameplay trailer is slated for Tuesday, the 24th.
