NVIDIA has continued to make money with cryptomining during the first quarter of the year, largely due to the increase in prices that it has passed on to its clients and the increase in production that it has managed to secure from Samsung. That saw it earn €7.74 billion in the first quarter of 2022, up 46% year-on-year, with profits of €1.51 billion. In this case, profits have decreased by 15% due to the impact of the failed acquisition of Arm that cost it €1.26 billion.
In addition, the company has increased its gross margin to 65.5% from 64.1% in the first quarter of last year. A slight improvement of 1.4 percentage points that has allowed him to offset the benefits of the failed acquisition of Arm. Looking at it by divisions, Data Centers reported €3.50 billion, up 83% year-over-year, Games reported €3.38 billion or 31% more, Professional Visualization reported €580.39 million or 67% more, and Automotive and Robotics about 138 M$, 10% less.
