Gamer buys PS5 with COD: MW2 but Sony sends her a PS5 with God of War: Ragnarok
There is still little more than a week to go before the expected launch of God of War: Ragnarok, but unfortunately for days leaks have been circulating thanks to stores that distributed the game ahead of time. But something that no one saw coming was that one of those stores would be Sony itself.
It is possible to buy products directly from Sony through the PS Direct portal, where it was possible to buy a PlayStation 5 console bundle that includes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the most recent game in the series. However, one player purchased the bundle and received another, the PlayStation 5 bundle with God of War: Ragnarok.
In mid-October Sony announced that it was about to release a new package that includes a PlayStation 5 console with a code to download God of War: Ragnarok, which goes on sale on November 9, the same day as the game. It was this same bundle that the PS5 player who ordered a bundle with Modern Warfare 2 received.
It should be noted that the PlayStation 5 bundle with God of War: Ragnarok includes the game as a downloadable code and not in its physical version, so when redeeming it, it will most likely be registered as a pre-sale. For this reason, this Sony error is not going to generate unwanted leaks of the game.
The player in question is Rasheeda Smith, a user who follows the Wario 64 account on Twitter, a user dedicated to sharing promotions related to video games. In one of the posts about the PlayStation 5 bundle with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Rasheeda posted showing off the PS5 bundle with God of War: Ragnarok that she received instead from Sony.
