Windows 10 is the current operating system developed by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. It was officially unveiled in September 2014, followed by a short demo presentation at the Build 2014 conference. It entered beta testing in October 2014 and was released to the general public on July 29, 2015. To encourage its adoption, Microsoft announced its free availability for one year from its release date, for users with genuine copies of Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or Windows 8.1 Update. In June 2015, a tool was enabled to reserve this update, this tool notifies each user when the update download will be ready for their device. Participants in the Windows Insider program can receive a Windows 10 license, but with certain conditions. This edition introduced a "universal" application architecture.Developed with the Modern UI interface, these applications can be designed to run on all Microsoft product families with nearly identical code (including personal computers, tablets, smartphones, embedded systems, Xbox One, Surface Hub, and HoloLens. The interface The user interface was revised to make transitions between a mouse-oriented interface and a touchscreen-oriented interface based on available input devices (particularly in laplets). Both interfaces include an updated Start menu that comprises a similar design to Windows 7 with the Windows 8 tiles also introduced Task View, a virtual desktop system, Microsoft Edge web browser and other new or updated applications, built-in support for logging in via fingerprint or facial recognition, new security features for business environments, DirectX 12 and WDDM 2.0 to enhancegraphics capabilities of the operating system for video games.
