New Intel Comet Lake-U for laptops coming to Lenovo, featuring Intel’s 9550U CPU

Its expected that Lenovo will present its new generation of IdeaPad S530 laptops (during CES), as a supposed leak could have already listed these new laptop on its website, equipped with three new Intel 9000 Series processors, or in other words, Intel Comet Lake U processors for laptops. You already know that Intel has not yet announced its next generation of processors, although little by little more and more information is appearing and, in fact, it is already known that they will be called Intel Comet Lake.

Therefore, it is clear that Lenovo has published this information by mistake, and proof of this is that it can no longer be found on its website. Anyway you already know what usually happens when something is published on the Internet, and is that once the information has been published, screenshots showing all the information, such as the one you can see below with the full technical characteristics of the Lenovo IdeaPad S530-13IWL model:

According to sources, IdeaPad S530, a 2-in-1 laptop with a 13-inch IPS display, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, and a discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU (Pascal) option.

  • Core i7-9550U (replaces Core i7-8565U)
  • Core i5-9250U (replaces Core i5-8265U)
  • Core i3-9130U (replaces Core i3-8145U)

Following this slip from Lenovo, the rumors have begun. You know how this works: a manufacturer makes a mistake and inadvertently publishes features or names of a product that has not yet been announced, this is captured and the media we echo, and from there the rumors begin.

We can take as very likely, that it is not certain until the official announcement by Intel, that the Comet Lake-U processors will be an improved version of the current generation, based on lithography at 14nm ++ of low consumption and, in this case, with four physical cores and with only the Core i7 with Hyperthreading technology, which would provide it with eight process threads.

Everything else from there is pure speculation, because nothing else has been filtered. In any case it is expected that Lenovo will present these new IdeaPad S530 at the next CES, which will take place in Las Vegas at the beginning of January 2019, so luckily it will not be long until we can leave doubts.

Latest Google Pixel 3 leak

The Google Pixel 3 and its larger version are the two phones that have received this year the dubiously honorable prize of being the most leaked of the year. Specifications, unboxings, photos taken with your camera and even a review made weeks before your presentation. A situation that has been normalized as the weeks have passed and new data came to light, but which would have caused great outrage had it occurred with another manufacturer. In any case, there was a missing data to know and that nothing was known with certainty until now: the colors in which this new terminal will hit the market.

Despite being a commonly underestimated field, colors are a determining factor in consumer products, as many of the manufacturers have already shown in the past, including Google. This year the Mountain View company, as a result of the latest movements in the sector and based on its experience in previous years, seems to banish a key to include another line of smartphones.

According sources, Google is planning to introduce a pink variant of the Pixel 3. It’s pretty pale, and apparently Google is branding it as ‘Sand.’ It doesn’t look particularly appealing to me from the leaked renders, but hopefully it’ll be better in person.

Microsoft presents the Surface Pro 6 featuring the eighth generation of Intel processors

Microsoft has unveiled its new tablet for professionals, the Surface Pro 6.

The tablet integrates the eighth generation of Intel processors. Unfortunately, they have not incorporated the USB-C ports. Little change was expected compared to the previous generation.

The most important novelty of this device is inside, they have decided to jump to the eighth generation of Intel processors, which already incorporates a four-core chip. Microsoft mentions that it is 67% faster than the previous model.

The exterior design remains intact but they have added a new color; matte black, which looks very elegant on the device. Unfortunately, it has been confirmed that the sixth generation will not have UBS-C ports, so this feature will wait until next year. Some expected a completely renewed design, but the latest rumors suggest that this will happen in 2019.

The Verge is reporting that at an event in New York. “Microsoft today showed off its new line of Surface products, including updates to the existing laptop line and a new product: the Surface Headphones. The laptops also come in an additional new color that should please fans of all things dark mode.”

There are no changes to the screen, the resolution and the size are still 12.3 inches. Regarding the battery, it will have battery life of 13.5 hours, enough to perform daily tasks. Although few will notice, the interior has been redesigned to improve the cooling of the components. It is possible to configure the hybrid tablet with up to 16GB of RAM. The input model with Core i5 processor will be priced at $ 899 and will be available from next October 16.

Surface Laptop 2

Microsoft has taken advantage of its October event to present the second generation of the Surface Laptop. Following the line of the other devices presented, the Surface Laptop 2 maintains the design of the previous model, however, it renews its internal components to improve its performance. The Surface Laptop 2 is 85% faster than the previous generation.

Its most significant novelty is found in the incorporation of the eighth generation of Intel processors, which allows to increase its speed by 85%. The battery life supported is about 15.4 hours for continuous video playback. Microsoft notes that the screen has the thinnest LCD panel on a laptop with a touch screen. Regarding the colors, the existing ones are conserved but the matt black is added. In this computer have not been encouraged to integrate the USB-C ports, which certainly discourage many.

The base model comes with 8GB of RAM, Intel Core i5 processor and 128 GB of SSD storage. It will have a price of $899, $100 less than the previous device. Its highest configuration reaches $1,500. It will be available for sale from next October 16, but it can be booked from today.

Sony Xperia XZ Premium review, features a 4K screen

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium has a 5.5-inch 4K screen that is simply impressive, as Tech Radar highlights, and is capable of playing high-resolution content. However, having a resolution like this implies that there is not much content that can cope with it.

With a rear camera of 19 megapixels it is capable of recording videos in slow motion at 960 frames per second, slower than most cell phones in the market. The problem with this feature is that it is able to do this only for a second, so you have to be precise.

Like other options, it has 8 GB of RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. Its cost is $700 dollars.

What stands out about the OnePlus 5T cell phone is its 6.01-inch Full HD AMOLED screen, as underlined by Android Authority. It also has two cameras, one of 20 megapixels and a telephoto lens with pixel technology that allows you to take better photos in low light conditions.

Another of its characteristics, according to the same medium, is security. It is possible to unblock it with a fingerprint or with facial recognition. In comparison with other devices, this does not have resistance to water and dust, which makes it the most careful.

Its 8 GB of RAM and its Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor make it a very solid competitor in terms of performance. Its price is $ 499 in its version of 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory, or $ 559 with 128 GB of memory and 8 GB of RAM.

LG V30 review, features 4 GB of RAM and a 6-inch screen

The LG V30 as Tech Radar highlights, this cell phone is a strong combination of power and performance. With a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4 GB of RAM and a 6-inch screen, it can fight with other high-end phones.

One of the things that stands out from this cell phone, are its powerful speakers that put it above all its competitors as far as sound is concerned. However, as mentioned in the same media, almost all its features are very similar to those of the Samsung S8 and its price of $ 830 puts it in the pricey section.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro according to some media sources such as CNET or Tech Radar, this cell phone can be one of the best in terms of battery performance. It is able to last more than a day with a single charge thanks to the 4,000 milliamperes battery it has. However, it lacks one of the latest innovations that other devices already have, such as wireless charging.

As for its other features, it incorporates a 6-inch high-resolution screen and 6 GB of RAM, which allow it to be a powerful cell phone; IP 67 water and dust resistance, 8 front camera and one of its 12 megapixel rear cameras. It is very similar to other devices in its range. It costs $950 dollars.

The iPhone 8 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch full HD screen, it maintains the design that the company presented in the iPhone 6. However, the novelty here has to do with respect to the materials used because, as in the iPhone X, all its cover is made up of glass. The screen size of this device is smaller because it still retains the fingerprint reader for unlocking.

In the other features is very similar to the iPhone X, it has the same resistance to water and dust, the same RAM, and the same chip, camera and wireless charging. The difference with the latter is that the 8 Plus, as highlighted by CNET, which does not have a portrait mode in the front camera and has a lower capacity battery: 2,961 milliamps.

Its launch price was $799 dollars for its 64 GB version.

iPhone X review

The iPhone X incorporates the latest innovation from Apple. This cell phone named after the 10th anniversary of the launch of the first iPhone, represents a change in important design with respect to the latest models. This cell phone has a 5.8-inch OLED HDR screen that covers the entire front of the device. To achieve this, Apple decided to remove the fingerprint reader, replacing it with a front sensor with facial recognition for unlocking the phone. This redesign, however, as highlighted by The Guardian, makes it excessively fragile as it has a glass cover and not aluminum.

It has 3 GB of RAM memory and an A11 chip that, as published by the press, is the most powerful one ever used in a mobile device. As for the internal memory, there are two options of 64 GB and 256 GB non-expandable. As with the 7 and 7 plus models, it has an IP 67 resistance to water and dust. Another feature is the possibility of wireless charging, that is, a cable is not necessary to fill the 2,716 milliampere battery.

As for the camera, it has a double rear camera of 12 megapixels (MP) and a front camera of 7 MP. The company added several professional lighting options to its portrait mode that makes its debut on the front camera; however, these are still in a beta phase. The starting price in the United States was $1,000 dollars.

The most outstanding feature of Apple’s new smartphone is its Face ID, the face recognition system, with 3D face reading. However the computer security company Bkav of Vietnam showed that it could hack the system with a mask with parts printed in 2D and 3D.

When the iPhone X was introduced, it was not said that the system was un-hackable but more reliable than other biometric authentication tools. According to the director of Apple Phil Schiller, the chances of a person unlocking an iPhone with Face ID is one in a million, while the options of this happening with the Touch Id is 1 in 50 thousand.

The iPhone X is the first cell phone of the company to incorporate OLED screen. It stands out for its dual 12 MP camera, which allows 2X optical zoom. In addition, it has optical stabilization in each of its lenses: a telephoto and a wide angle, with focal aperture of 1.8 and 2.4 respectively.
